Vedic Meditation with Nic

A natural, effortless technique that asks nothing of you. No active control, no repetitive chanting, no concentration. Twenty minutes, twice a day, and the nervous system does the rest itself.

What sets it apart

Rest isn't something you achieve. It's something you allow.

Think of a cast on a broken bone. The doctor doesn't heal your arm, they can't. They hold it still, in the right position, long enough that your body does the actual healing. The cast isn't the medicine. It's the condition that lets the medicine work.

Vedic Meditation holds your nervous system still enough to drop into a rest deeper than sleep. You are not doing the healing. You are giving your body the stillness it needs to do it.

Why people practise it

Six reasons it holds.

Clarity and confidence

Sharper mental clarity and focus, and a marked drop in reactivity to small things. Better decisions follow.

Easy for everyone

No intense concentration and no complex ritual. A natural settling of the mind that works with the body's own rhythms.

Stress reduction

Deep rest lets the system metabolise accumulated stress rather than carrying it forward.

Steadier under pressure

Inner serenity builds resilience, so challenges get met from a calmer and more centred place.

Better sleep

Quality of rest matters more than duration. A calmer mind gives you deeper, more restorative sleep.

Brain function and creativity

Greater synchrony across brain regions, with improvements in memory, creative thinking and concentration.

Simplicity

What you will never be asked to do.

Most people who think they cannot meditate are thinking of a different practice entirely. Here is what this one does not ask of you.

No clearing the mind

You are never asked to empty your head or stop your thoughts. Thoughts during meditation are part of it working.

No monitoring your thoughts

Nothing to observe, label or watch. You are not supervising your own mind for twenty minutes.

No focus or concentration

The opposite, in fact. Effort is what stops most techniques working. This one runs on letting go.

No mind control

You are not managing, directing or disciplining anything. The technique does the work.

No special position

Sit comfortably however you like. A chair is completely fine. No floor, no cushion, no cross-legged anything.

No natural talent required

It works for people who are certain meditation is not for them. Being busy-minded is not a disqualification.

Questions

Common questions

How is this different to other meditation and mindfulness techniques?

Vedic Meditation uses a particular sound, a mantra, to guide the mind beyond ordinary thought. In that state two things happen: the body takes a deeply restorative rest, and the mind experiences an expansive awareness free of thought. That state is rarely reached through other techniques.

How long before I reach transcendence?

Many students experience brief or even profound moments of it within their first few sessions during the course itself.

How do I know I'll be able to do it?

Vedic Meditation is accessible to everyone. I have never had a student who could not learn it.

What happens after I learn?

You will be fully equipped to practise on your own each day. Weekly live group meditations and mentoring sessions run on Zoom, included at no extra cost, for community, accountability and refinement.

Will my mantra change over time?

You start with an initial mantra tailored to your birth details. After a few years of practice you can move to an advanced mantra through a two-session course.

Why do I have to pay for it?

Vedic Meditation teachers train for years and invest substantially in that training. Unlike teachers supported by monasteries or institutions, we sustain ourselves through the work. Your fee covers the full course plus the ongoing weekly group meditations and mentoring for as long as you want them.

Is Nic a qualified teacher?

Yes. I am trained and qualified as a Vedic Meditation teacher.

Is Vedic Meditation an organisation?

No. It is a style of meditation with no governing body, organisation or leader. It is simply an efficient way of calming the mind and body.

Can I do private mentoring with you?

Yes. I offer private coaching and mentoring covering business, career, success coaching and life purpose. Get in touch through the contact page.
